DO I STILL GET A STICKER? Plus

Spearhead riders may remember when we mailed out permit stickers for helmets. We no longer do this. If you completed a waiver and paid for your permit, a copy of your permit was e-mailed to you. Check your spam folder. The e-mail subject is "Your Spearhead Trails™ Permit". Screenshot, print or save this e-mail for your files. Additionally, all Trail Rangers have the ability to look up your permit on the trails. You must ride with a valid ID.
can I ride at night? Plus

No, trails are open from sunrise to sunset.
Do you offer rental machines? Plus

The SRRA and Spearhead Trails do not offer rental machines, but many of our partners do.

Do I have to wear a helmet? Plus

Yes, every rider must wear a helmet.
Who needs a permit? Plus

Drivers and riders, including children, must have a permit to ride Spearhead Trails. Purchase here.
Can I bring my dog? Plus

Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Can I ride on the road? Plus

Only ride on the road where permitted via VDOT signage. State and county roads are not our jurisdiction.

The speed limit on all trails is 25 mph.
Can I drink alcohol on the trails? Plus

Even if you aren't driving or are stopped, alcohol is strictly prohibited on Spearhead Trails.

Yes, Trail Rangers have the authority to write tickets and enforce all rules set forth in the rider permit agreement.

Camping on the trail and building fires are both strictly prohibited.
